Situated
on the main A666 which passes though the centre of Darwen
on its way from Bolton to Blackburn and although the road
bears the number of the Beast, there is no sign of beastliness
in the active life of the Church.

Somewhat
anachronistically named – since it was built 25 years
ago – New Church is an amalgam of many smaller Churches
that formed the various Methodist Circuits in Darwen,
including the large 'Railway Road' Church (now a supermarket).
The legacy from this meld of Churches has blessed New
Church with an adventurous spirit and adaptable premises
to match. Always ready to try new things and welcome new
people.
The
Church enjoys a congregation with a wide age range and
has a number of enthusiastic children and teenagers to
keep them in order. They enjoy their special relationship
with Central URC and enthusiastically enter into Partnership
events.
